My name is Jim Ochsenreiter, which is pronounced aak-sen-rye-ter, and this unique mouthful of syllables is where the name of this site originates from.
I received a BFA at Carnegie Mellon University in 1988, began my career in my hometown Chicago and have been based in San Francisco since 1996.
During my two-decade career in graphic design, I have witnessed the transformative power good design has on small and large organizations, individuals and cultures. While technology and trends continue to change, my love of the classic design elements: type, form, color, image, and the written word, combined with my interests in art, history and culture have been a constant source of inspiration and growth.
My experience includes brand identity, corporate communications, strategic marketing, website and UI design, large scale business and publishing systems, print management and production.
As an independent designer, I am able to collaborate on an individual project, in a part time or full time setting, depending your project needs.
